This Weekend
Dawn & I got back in last night from a 3 day weekend in Dallas. Dawn had a bell ringing seminar/thingie there, so I tagged along just for the heck of it. She appeared to have a bit of fun ringing bells in a new tower.
While I was there I went to a photo class/safari at the Dallas Zoo. This was a 4.5 hour class led by the zoo photographer on how to photograph animals in the zoo, and special access to some of the animals. Here’s an Album of Pics
Sam
Sam the cat, as many of you know, has not had the best of luck with his health. A couple of years ago he went under chemo/radio-therapy for his messed up thyroid. The condition also messed up his heart, liver, and other organs. He’s been on a steady diet of meds and special foods since then. Last week Dawn brought him in for a checkup, since his belly has become distended. Basically they said he’s retaining fluids in the gut and that he is starting to experience organ failure. He’s not in distress or pain right now, just very mellow and laid back. They said we could expect him to pass on anywhere from 2-6 weeks. (But they’ve given him a year before for other things, and that was many years ago). We’ll see. We are just babying him right now and making him comfortable.
Camera
I sold a couple of my camera lenses to fund the purchase of a newer better lens. I now have a Sigma 70-200/2.8 EX. Heavy and bulky, but sharp. All the zoo pictures I took this weekend were with this lens.
Work
Dawn’s been working like a demon at the church getting used to her new job and getting the choir office resituated after the move during the construction going on. She seems alot happier at the new job then her old one.
Hopefully I will have some news in the near future about my job also. Good news. We are keeping our fingers crossed.
