Did some updates to the site this morning - mainly got rid of bad menus on some of the versions you can choose.

Here’s another trivia/fact/link for today:

You know that the government confiscates knives, scissors, screwdrivers, etc when you are at the airport. Ever wonder what they do with them?

I have not done a “Link of the day” post in awhile, so here are a few:

Droogle: It’s a Google like search engine for drinks. I can’t decide if it stands for Drinks+Google or “Drunks Google”.

sudoku: a number/logic game. Very addicting. Very easy to lose track of an hour. My best so far is about 3 mins 30 secs, but I average right at around 5 minutes.

Blik: “Stickers” to decorate the walls. Hey Dawn, how about we get someof these to spice up the white wood wall in the back family room?

This is a new (just opened this week) community type gathering place. You download the software and it runs as a seperate program (not as a web window).

With it you can do many things:
chat with others, either privately or in a group
post photos to share or in private groups to only share with special people
have a blog
join or create groups and have chats, forums, etc

It’s pretty cool.

I’m there with the name Steelsun
and I’ve created 2 public groups (meems) so far: “Texas Photographers” and “Canon 20D DSLR”.

Haven’t had time lately to update the site further. I’m a bit behind on it and in getting photos organized and ready for display. But I’m slowly getting through the pics.

Here’s general news:

Dawn - Just got back from San Angelo where she spent the weekend with her parents. She seems to have enjoyed the family time and relaxation. Choir is also restarting after the summer break. She also has the bell guild meeting coming up in 2 weeks (http://houstonagm.com/)

Work - Work’s been a bit hectic lately. It’s been hush-hush, but we’ve been in talks with another company to absorb us. They basically want to start an investigative division and since they’ve been using us for years, felt it would be easier to just have us become the division. It’s about 90% complete (just some licensing issues to deal with and other minor stuff). If it gets wrapped up soon like it’s supposed to, I’ll be posting something at the very beginning of September about the new job (name, location, phone numbers, etc).
