Dawn & I are in San Angelo visiting her parents.

OK - Busy weekend. My task list results.

Dawn has her new Hard drive in and she’s updated to Windows 2000. I still have to hook in her old hard drive as a secondary drive so she can get to that info. I did not do mine yet.

Saturday I did do the Battleship Texas Hard Hat tour. It was fun. I realize now that those youngsters manning the ship were skinny, spry, short and in shape: some of those passeges were tight! We started around 8:30 and I did not leave until 1:30.

After the tour I checked messages and found one from Chris. Our friends Scott & Beth had bought an old warehouse/office a year ago and have been renovating it as a residence. They’ve been living in it for a few months. Well it seems their insurance company wasn’t happy with their living conditions and were going to cancel their home insurance unless it passed a new inspection on “livability” on Monday. So I met Chris & Lynda there and we pitched in to help out on things that needed doing. And we didn’t end up leaving until almost 1 in the morning. We basically did alot of moving of stuff (furniture, boxes, building supplies, more building supplies, and more), hung some panels and trim, cut a lot of wood (for panels, trim, wall supports, shelves, and more), and did general “make it look good” stuff. Dang was I exhausted. I don’t know how everything turned out though. They won’t find out for a few more days. Let’s hope.

An update for the past couple of weeks.

Butch went in for double knee replacement - it sounds like it was quite an event. Dawn’s in San Angelo right now to visit and help out.

Halloween pics - will be up this weekend.

Choir pics - Dawn asked that I get a good pic of the choir for the church directory. I asked Chris to help out, and he got J to assist. J brought tons of equipment (lights, lenses, cameras, etc) and we set up and made the shots. Got to try out J’s new Canon 5D (the big brother of the 20D the three of us also use). Nice. Thanks again J & Chris! I’ll put up some smaller res versions of the pics here also (the full versions are over 12 Megs each!).

This weekend: Aside from pining for Dawn, I have given myself a few projects:
1) The images above
2) Getting a new hard drive installed on Dawn’s & My computers and reinstalling windows on them. Hopefully this will speed up Dawn’s computer (it has not been cleaned and formatted in many years) and allow more space on mine (I have no more space for images, yikes).
3) Calibrating the new printer so the images printed look like they do on screen.
4) Take a special tour of Battleship Texas (see below)

Battleship Texas: I’m going on a special “Hard Hat” tour of the Battleship early sat morning - it’s 3 1/2 - 4 hours long and you have to wear a hard hat and bring a flashlight. You get to go in places the public doesn’t. They only have this a few times a year and limit the number of people. It’ll be fun.

Rumour is that their may be games at Chris & Lynda’s one night this weekend. Let’s hope so.
