Dawn’s parents are in town, and on Friday we went to High Island.

The spring migration is not really underway yet, and not much was to be seen in the various Audubon woods.  But the Rookery was awesome.  This is a place where Egrets, roseate  Spoonbills, and other birds mate and nest.

We went to the rodeo last weekend on Sunday, the last day for the year.  Featured events were “Extreme” Bullriding (seemed like normal bull riding to me, no tasers, spikes, or anything), and ZZ Top, that little old band from Texas.

Dawn & I went to the St Thomas School’s Scottish Festival on Friday night.

It was very enjoyable and not at all what I expected (I actually liked it).

All the pics here are resized to an 8×10 ratio and uploaded at 640×800. The originals are about 1400×1700, so if one of the parents, students, etc wants one of the photos full size for printing, let Dawn know.

Seems the site has been up & down today.  I have about 10 sites all on the same host and 4 were up and working and 6 were down, yet they all share the same server and space.  Weird.

This is a painted version of a picture of a church in Houston (I think it’s St Martin Episcopal).
