Well it’s official, kinda, sorta.
I am leaving full time employment with my current employer in Montgomery. I’ll be just doing part-time work for them as sort of a consultant & contractor.
I am joining another firm in the same arena (security consultant & troubleshooter).
Good parts: I’ll be working from home most days. I get to learn and grow more. Potential for larger payoffs after first few months.
And I get to expand my photography antics more.
Bad Part: The beginning will have erratic paydays based on the work I do, and I don’t know how long I’ll have medical insurance or if I’ll get some with the new company yet.
Overall it’ll be very good and I am looking forward to it.

Just finished filing and paying taxes this year. Paying? Yep, paying.
We actually got hit hard this year due to several things: We both got raises at our jobs last year, and then I changed jobs that amounted to a second huge raise, and I had a small bonus. That all moved us up to a higher bracket. Then we also finished paying off our second mortgage early, so did not have as much mortgage interest to deduct. plus a few other things.
It sucks paying out what you earned to help fund all the government waste.
I am totally for the end to property taxes (why should I pay the government again and again for what is mine?) and income taxes. I say “Yes!” to a flat rate consumption (sales) tax.
