Tuesday I leave for a work trip to Fargo, ND for 3 days.

Still working on pics from Utah.  Here’s a teaser of a photo of the Mormon Temple in Salt Lake:

And some shots of “dockdogs” I took Friday when Dawn & I goofed off for an hour at the park:

Albums Being Processed

I am working on my images and getting into albums to upload.  I am aiming for the first set (Arches National Park) to be uploaded by Tuesday.

I’ll be using a fairly new and innovative album setup that is pretty awesome.  We’ll see how it works.

For a little bit of trivia:

Our trip was 17 days.

I downloaded 2,140 images from my camera (and I deleted numerous from my camera before downloading).

Total size on my drive for these pictures: 27.2 GB

I anticipate uploading about 400 images total to the albums (average of about 100 per park we went to)

Sitting in Salt Lake City

We fly out back home tomorrow, and are in Salt Lake for the night.  I’ve been sick all day, hopefully a quick bug, don’t look forward to flying with this.  Yuk.

Some quick pics since I finally have good net access.

We’re here! Dawn & I landed in Salt Lake City around 4 and are now in Beaver, Utah.

Tomorrow we’ll meet up with her parents around Zion.

First shot of the trip - we pulled over in a little town names Nephi and saw this western tanager:

One more week until Dawn & I are off on Vacation.

We’ll be heading out Thursday the 22nd via air to Salt Lake City, then via ground to Zion, then Bryce, then Arches, and finally Mesa Verde until the drive back to Salt Lake to fly home on the 7th.

I can’t wait.

Painting

Haven’t uploaded a picture in awhile, so here’s something I thought about due to a conversation I had with friends at dinner.

It’s a “painted” rendition of a shot I took in Norwich, UK last year.

Dawn & I went to San Antonio last weekend.

While we were there, we went to a re-enactment at the Alamo, and then shot Graffiti and the Missions with other photographers.  Here’s two of the shots from the time:

Today we spent the morning at the Rio Grande Nature Center - plenty of birds.

Then this afternoon we went to Tent Rocks, a natural wonder about an hour from ABQ. Here’s a pic from that.

Dawn & I are in Albuquerque for a few days visiting my Mom, Brother & nephew (and maybe niece) and Dawn’s cousin. It’s cold, crisp & clear. Wonderful.

Here’s a pic from last night of Sandia Peak from my Mom’s backyard, it’s been “painted”, it’s also my PaD for 02/07:

also a pic of just the mountain:
